love me not forever...

love me when you see the sun cuddled
by the clouds in sweet slumber
or when the ocean fights the sun
as it sets unwanted, in darkness

when darkness brings dreams
of unending stories, of you
of me, in slumber, sweet
of clouds that never vanish

love me when the trees rise
from a conquer, of soils and ashes
that shackled their roots to silence
or when the sand searches
for peace in the tides

when the tides change
the colors of the rainbow
or when the rainbow bows
defeated to a serene white sky

love me then
and love me now
love me not forever
'cause every too often
forever lies...

ala-alang hindi mapapagod

Banayad na alon ng ilog
Sa araw na walang hudyat
Animo’y kaibigan
Sa buhay – kapwa, bato at halaman
Humahagod, humuhuni
Nakikiniig sa lupa

Sinong nag-akalang

Pikit matang idinaos
Namingi sa kalam ng tiyan,
Namanhid sa panginginig ng tuhod

Lumipas na ang daluyong

Subalit
Sa bawat hudyat muli’t muling maghahanda
Sa bawat badya, muli’t muling maghahanda
Sa bawat signos, muli’t muling maghahanda

Lumipas na ang daluyong

Ngunit hindi ang takot
May iba nang mukha ang panaginip
Nagsugat ang iniwan ng bangungot

Sinong makakalimot?

your song

the music may die, soon
we will watch
as it fades and recedes
into the corners
of utter sadness, or perhaps be
forgotten

still,
until it does

let me feel its rhythm as my blood,
its beat nudging, consciousness
reminds me of each minute
ticked away in search
waiting and hoping
only to find
that the music played for me
from the start,

to the end,
it does

raise my soul unto the peak
of fleeting joy and lasting madness
the melancholic pauses,
the brilliant gaps..
a crescendo that shall be
heard last

then, everything else
stops

missed...

You miss them too, don’t you?
The nights when buzzing bees flirted
The lazy hoots of owls, unguarded

The raindrops glistened leaves
The random calls and lullabies
Poems half undone, in slumber
Verses awaiting rhymes

The sleeping cornfields, moonlit
The bonfire crackling wind
The sweet humming breeze

And the fresh cup of tea, we shared…
